Alexander Kosovsky, Senior Citizenship & Residency Advisor at Astons, visited the Citizenship Investment Unit (CIU) of São Tomé and Príncipe and met with its CEO, Alfredo Trindade.
The CIU is legally structured as a public–private partnership, with its management center located in Dubai. This unit is responsible for implementing the new citizenship by investment program, which launched in September 2025.
According to the CIU, the first approvals have already been issued. The minimum due diligence period is about 2 months, with total processing typically taking 4–6 months.
We are among the first accredited agents to receive an official government license to work with the program.
The minimum contribution required to obtain a Sao Tome and Principe passport is $90,000, making it one of the most affordable programs worldwide. The investment goes to the National Transformation Fund, which supports renewable energy development, housing construction, as well as educational and socio-economic projects.
