The Astons Research: The Quickest Options to Get Second Citizenship Through Investment

Passport cover

International company Astons has specialised in investment migration for over 30 years. Now, we conducted a research to reveal the countries that offer the fastest processing of a second citizenship.

According to our data, the fastest option is a Pacific state of Vanuatu. Members of Vanuatu’s Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programme will become holders of a second passport in just 30 days. This passport unlocks visa free access to 129 countries, including the EU, the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore. The minimum investment is £99,416.

Number two in the rating is St Kitts and Nevis. Astons clients obtain citizenship of this Caribbean country within an average of 53 days after the application is submitted. In these pandemic times, many foreign investors opt for the passport of St Kitts and Nevis that enables free entry to 152 countries, including the EU and the UK, with a minimum investment from £114,710.

The St Kitts and Nevis CBI is followed by the programmes of Turkey, Dominica and Jordan. On average, applicants receive a passport of Turkey in 61 days, passports of Dominica and Jordan - in 76 days.

“During the pandemic, we witnessed a robust growth in applications for the citizenship of island states: Vanuatu, St Kitts and Nevis and other Caribbean countries,” says Astons’ Managing Director Arthur Sarkisian. “These countries not only offer a perfect climate and high quality of life, but also a chance to obtain second citizenship with minimum investment.”

Mr. Sarkisian noted that the immigration programmes of Vanuatu and St Kitts and Nevis have become increasingly popular among foreign investors willing to avoid the limitations posed by a potential ‘second wave’ of the coronavirus. “The migration trend is here to stay, at least until the pandemic is over,” comments Arthur Sarkisian.

The Astons research also showed a growing interest towards the European Citizenship by Investment programmes. These include the CBI route of Cyprus that offers a second passport within an average of 183 days, as well as Malta (425 days), Bulgaria (730 days) and Austria (912 days).

The Astons experts remind you that the Cypriot passport not only unlocks visa free access to 173 countries, including the EU and the UK, but also enables you to relocate to the UK and obtain British residency and citizenship later on.
