Good news for investors! Cyprus reopens hotels and resumes international flights
The Cyprus government has announced that hotels will open from June 1st, with airports to open and international flights to resume from 9th June. Initially, Cyprus is allowing flights from those countries with the lowest Coronavirus infection rates.
These locations are Greece, Malta, Hungary, Norway, Austria, Finland, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Israel, Denmark, Germany, Slovakia and Lithuania. From 9th until 19th June, passengers from these countries are allowed to cross the Cyprus border provided they hold a valid confirmation of a negative coronavirus test issued no earlier than three days before their travel date.
Cyprus citizens and people with residence permits are allowed to enter Cyprus from these countries without providing test results. However, they are required to undergo testing in Cyprus upon arrival and self-isolate until the results are confirmed.
Starting from 20th June, travel to Cyprus is permitted from Switzerland, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Estonia and the Czech Republic. The list of safe countries will update in the future.
Cyprus has become one of the most successful and safe European countries in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic. At the beginning of May, Cyprus began to gradually lift restrictions and return to the vibrant, Mediterranean way of life it is known for. Starting from June, hotels and beaches will reopen for the residents of Cyprus.
The government of Cyprus plans to use its successful Citizenship Through Investment Program to boost the economy and support the real estate market. With immediate effect, Cyprus no longer prohibits investors with a political past from participation in the program, instead considering each case with an individual approach.
