Confirmed: UK Visa or ILR applications permitted without English testing or a Life In The UK result

2

Astons can confirm that immigration applications can be submitted to the Home Office without a Secure English Language Testing (SELT) result or a Life in the UK (LitUK) result whilst UK testing is disrupted.

Test centres for SELT and LitUK tests remain closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, even where these results are mandatory, applicants may still be submitted. The tests must be successfully passed before the application will be granted.

Here's how we can help!

Astons work with our partners at Immigration.UK, which is an SRA regulated solicitors’ firm. Please speak to one of our dedicated immigration experts who can guide you. They will ensure that you understand the process, as well as any future updates and what these could mean for you.

If you plan to apply for a Tier 2 Visa within the next 6 to 12 months, we strongly advise you to begin the process as soon as possible. This advice is based on the ongoing uncertainty caused by the Coronavirus pandemic which has caused several businesses to reduce or even suspend their services. Obtaining the necessary documents to support your application is therefore likely to take longer than usual.
