Why Skilled Workers Should Want To Work In The UK

Despite there being a wave of negativity surrounding the UK economy, and the level of skilled jobs that are available, the realities are different. Remember that headlines are often written more for appeal or impact than they are for factual accuracy. So the UK economy is probably not as "bad" as some would have you believe.

What is certain though is that there is a skills shortage, and wherever there are gaps there are opportunities. As such, there is a natural draw to the UK for skilled immigrant workers. Just think of this fact for example, 37% of NHS Doctors and 40% of nurses are none UK workers – these facts are provided by the GMC, and are a little alarming if you envision a health service without these key employees.

Members of the EU/EEA are able to work in the UK without a Visa. Quite how this will end up following Brexit is anybody's guess but for now, they are permitted to work under the freedom of movement of people.

None EU/EEA residents can still come to the UK to work, but they will need a Tier 2 (General) visa that covers skilled workers. Though the procedures may seem a little onerous at first, they are not necessarily as daunting as they first appear.

When you have a skillset, there will always be opportunities for you. At times, these may not be readily available where you are, and so you may have to be geographically mobile. Such opportunities are available in the UK for the right candidates. If you satisfy the criteria for a Visa, this is certainly something that you should strongly consider. You deserve only the best for all your hard work, so good luck.
